Description

Five-Drawer Dresser

This solid wood five-drawer dresser is part of our Cottage collection. It has five drawers in one column, like a chest of drawers. Tall chest, tallboy, or tall dresser are other names for this item. Usually, chests are narrower than dressers.

Each drawer bottom is in a groove in the solid wood drawer box. This is so the bottom always stays put and holds everything you store. Drawer boxes have dovetail joints in all four corners for durability and long-lasting. Metal glides with ball bearing connect each drawer to the frame.

Since pine is porous, we recommend adding a lacquer finish to the top of this five-drawer dresser.

You don't need to assemble this five-drawer dresser unit; it is pre-assembled and ready to use.

The classic design refers to this item's face or front panels.

Cottage Collection

We have different collections of beds and bunk beds, and each group has its characteristics. Our Cottage collection has a husky and traditional look and feels, which you may see in a cottage, hence the name. This collection has its roots in Ontario’s cottage country.

In this collection, we use mortise and tenon joinery for most strength. All drawers inside the dressers or nightstands are dovetailed joinery. Our Cottage collection is a lifelong investment; we build them strong enough to last you a long time.

We use durable, non-toxic, low-VOC finishes to make the Cottage collection the clean, healthy choice for your home. All colours are wood stain, not paint, including the white finish. Wood stain is ideal for showing the natural beauty of wood grains. You can also choose unfinished if you wish to apply your colour.

Hardware and Assembly

We use high-quality hardware for this collection. We include the hardware, instructions, and a simple allen key. You will need a Phillips screwdriver and do not need power tools.

Assembly of our Cottage collection is reasonably straightforward. You do not need to assemble the ladders, headboards, case goods and underbed storage drawers. We ship them pre-assembled. Case goods are items such as nightstands and dressers. We recommend two adults for easier assembly and handling.

Solid Wood

In our Cottage collection, we mainly use Southern Yellow Pine. We use premium wood, which is knot-free with no finger-joint pieces for maximum strength, and that is how we can achieve 400 pounds of weight capacity.

For case goods, we use plywood for the back panels and the bottom of the drawers. The case goods' casing, or shell, is solid wood and solid wood veneer for the top part.

Solid wood products like bed frames, loft beds and bunk beds are robust, easy to maintain, beautiful to look at and hold their value.

Bed Slats

Slats in our Cottage collection are knotty solid pine. Each slat is 5.5 inches wide, with nine slats per deck. That is nine slats for lofts and bed frames and 18 slats per bunk bed. All sizes use the same number of slats per deck.

Space between the slats is 3.5 inches for single and double and more for other sizes. If you wish to add an extra bed slat to reduce the spacing or as a spare, you can order one individual slat.

We do not use center support for our queen and extra-long beds and bunks in this collection. You must screw in every slat from both ends to the mattress rails, which is sufficient to achieve the strength you need. We add a center support bar to our king-size bed frames in this collection.
