Case Goods
In the furniture industry, case goods refer to any boxy cabinetry whose primary use is storage. These include night tables (or nightstands), chests of drawers, dressers, or blanket boxes. Items like desks and bookcases also form part of this family of furnishings.
All of our case goods are made of solid wood, or a combination of solid wood and wood veneer. With some exceptions, all of our dressers, nightstands, and chests require no assembly since we assemble them in our factories. This is to ensure the strength and durability of the product in transit.
Case Goods Family
The main item in this family is a chest of drawers, or simply chest, and sometimes ‘tall boys’. Chest of drawers are 4 to 6 drawers one on top of the others in one column. Sometimes the top drawer is two smaller drawers side by side.
Dressers are essentially two chests of drawers side by side. Usually they come in 2 columns of drawers with three or four rows to give 6 to 8 drawers. Similar to the chest, the top row may have smaller drawers.
Bookcases, or book shelves, are technically not part of this family but we bundle them under this name since they are very similar in structure. Same goes for desks and toy boxes and other boxy looking storage solutions.
Underbed Storage
The most popular pieces and the most practical items in this category are under bed dressers and trundle beds for bunk beds and bed frames. A hybrid and more practical version is the storage trundle which is used either for storage or for sleeping.
