Solid Wood Chest of Drawers

This solid wood chest of drawers has six drawers in a simple and traditional look. It is made of solid pine, the drawers are dovetail-joint with flush handles for a cleaner look. Structure, or frame, of this chest is using traditional mortise and tenon joinery which give you a lifetime durability. The height is 54”.

The Design

This chest of drawers is part of our Cottage Collection. You can match this chest with any of the bed frames, loft or bunk beds from this collection. 

Assembly of the Chest

This chest of drawers requires no assembly at all so you do not need to worry about it. You open the shipping box and pull out the chest of drawers and immediately start using it.  

Solid Wood

Made of solid Southern Yellow Pine. Yellow Pine is denser than our own BC pine therefore wears and tears better. Some roller coasters use this wood in their construction which is a testament to durability of this wood.  

Top part of this Chest of Drawers and inside of every drawer including the face of the drawers are all solid wood. Side panels are pine veneer with solid wood framing. Back of this item as well as the bottom of drawers we use plywood. 

Usability of Chest of Drawers

A Chest of drawers is a cabinet with a few drawers horizontally stacked over each other. There are no set rules for how many drawers but typically you see from two to six drawers.  

Chest of drawers' main usage is inside your bedroom as a storage of your linens and clothes. You can use the top surface as additional space for putting picture frames there to anything else you may like to have quick access to.  

These days most modern bedrooms come with built-in closets but often these closets do not have drawers. Considering the small footprint of the chest of drawers and their function, they surely are a functional piece of furniture for every bedroom. 

Choosing Chests Height 

Chest of drawers come in many heights. Given drawers are on top of each other, any additional drawer is not going to take any floor space. Therefore the number of drawers really depends on you and your needs. The most common one is five drawers.

Sometimes you can use the three drawers chest as a nightstand as well.
