Floor Bunk Bed

This hardwood floor bunk bed with stairs is part of our Modular Collection. The name is because of the fact that this bunk is made of many building blocks which in return give you a lot of choices.

The bed is designed as a Twin over Twin and Twin XL over Twin XL, making it ideal for shared rooms or compact spaces. The overall height is 50.75 inches.

Color, or stain, is available in Natural finish, White and Two Tone (Natural/White).

Both headboards feature a slat or panel style design, giving the bed a light, airy feel while maintaining durability and support.

With a low overall height, this floor bunk sits closer to the ground, making it a great option for younger children. The bunk bed can also be separated into two individual twin beds, offering flexibility as your needs change.

Usability

The modular design means you have zillions of options before your purchase and lots of possibilities in the future. This is because you can purchase parts separately that you can use to convert your bunk into something else.

You can use our modular design floor bunk bed for kids, teens or adults. Stairs make the climb very safe and easy. You can use drawers in the stairs for storage.

This hardwood bunk divides into components which you can use to make other pieces. However, you will need additional headboards if you want to divide this bunk into two beds.

Solid Hardwood Frame

We use solid hardwood for this bunk bed. Our factory uses Aspen, Maple, or Birch wood interchangeably for the production of this unit. To achieve maximum strength, we use premium knot-free hardwood for this bunk bed.

Its slats are made of plywood. They are about 2.5” wide and 2.5” apart from each other. Each slat comes with holes. So, you can secure every slat to the frame with two wood screws.

Safety of Your Bunk Bed

This modular design solid wood bunk bed can hold a tested 400lb weight capacity on the upper deck. The lower deck can almost also hold the same weight, but we do not test the lower deck.

On the upper deck, all sizes except the twin have center support. We use a metal support bar for extra-long and queen-size beds and a wooden center beam for full-size bunk and loft beds. The center support is available only for XL and queen sizes on the lower deck of bunk beds. We do not use center support for the lower deck of full-size bunk beds or for full-size platform beds in this collection.

The modular design has 4 metal pings, purpose built Rocklocks which lock the upper and lower headboards.

We use acrylic paint for the white finish. For natural and chestnut finishes we use nc lacquer (nitro cellulose). Also, we test the finishes for chemical compliance with US and EU safety standards.

Stairs

This bunk comes with four stairs and each stair has a drawer in it. Drawers are also wood, soft-close feature plus with dove-tailed joinery. Lower drawers do not go all the way to the end, only the upper two drawers do.

Also, this staircase comes with a solid banister for additional safety and ease when climbing.

Assembly

Assembly of Modular Design bunk with stairs is reasonably simple. No need to assemble the headboards. You need to assemble the stairs, the guard rails, connect mattress rails, and slats.

The stairs can go to either the right or left side. Stairs come in two pieces. Lower three stairs of this bed are one piece and one upper stair is another piece.

Mattress

Standard size mattress fits this bunk bed just fine. For the upper bunk, you can use a maximum 6” thick mattress. For the lower bunk, depending on which height you are going to choose, use a mattress between 6 to 8” thick.
