Our mattress slats are an essential part of our Modular collection. There are 14 slats per twin and full-size roll and 15 for XL sizes and queens.
Mattress slats are 2.5 inches apart from each other. The first and last slats are 4.5 inches wide, and the rest are 2.5 inches wide. Every slat has holes on both ends so that you can fasten the slats to the cleat of mattress rails with wood screws. We use solid pine or plywood for maximum strength.
We use our mattress slats on all of our platform beds, loft, bunk and daybeds in our Modular collection. You do not need to add a bunkie board, or a boxspring, over the slats.
The rest of the content below is general information about our Modular collection.
We have different collections of beds and bunk beds, and each group has its characteristics. Our Modular collection is like LEGO bricks, a handful of building blocks give you endless possibilities. You can buy a few pieces or modules in the future and transform your furniture as your child grows or your needs change.
Modular is our premium collection. We bevel all the edges, use modern precision machining, and quality wood and hardware. The fit and finish are exceptional.
In the Modular collection, we use durable, non-toxic, low-VOC finishes for a clean and healthy choice for your home.
Hardware and Assembly
We use oversize high-quality hardware for this collection. We include the hardware, instructions, and a simple allen key. The best is to open all the boxes and find everything before you start the assembly process. You will need a Phillips screwdriver and do not need power tools.
Assembly of our modular collection is reasonably straightforward, and some pieces, including headboards or stairs, are pre-assembled. We recommend two adults for easier assembly.
In our Modular collection, we only use solid hardwood such as birch, maple, or aspen. We use premium wood, which is knot-free with no finger-joint pieces for maximum strength, and that is how we can achieve 400 pounds of weight capacity. In this collection, we also use MDF or plywood for large surfaces like the staircase bannisters and the side of the case goods.
Solid wood products like bed frames, loft beds and bunk beds are robust, easy to maintain, beautiful to look at, last a long time and hold their value.
