Floor Bunk Bed
This solid hardwood floor bunk bed is part of our Modular Design collection. It comes with a vertical ladder on end, and a slide. This vertical ladder on end is a headboard entry. Its low-to-the-ground design makes it a safe and comfortable option for younger children, while still offering a clean, timeless look.
The angled ladder version offers easier climbing access, especially for younger users. The wider step angle provides added stability and comfort compared to vertical ladder designs.
This model also features an integrated slide, bringing a playful touch to the bunk design. It’s an ideal choice for kids’ rooms where everyday functionality meets fun, creating a space that’s both practical and enjoyable.
The bed is designed as a Twin over Twin and Twin XL over Twin XL, making it ideal for shared rooms or compact spaces. The overall height is 50.75 inches.
Color, or stain, is available in Natural finish, White and Two Tone (Natural/White).
Both headboards feature a slat or panel style design, giving the bed a light, airy feel while maintaining durability and support.
With a low overall height, this floor bunk sits closer to the ground, making it a great option for younger children. The bunk bed can also be separated into two individual twin beds, offering flexibility as your needs change.
Usability
This modular design gives you zillions of options of use and lots of possibilities in the future. This is because you can purchase pieces individually which in turn gives you lots of flexibility.
Our modular design solid hardwood bunk bed is suitable for use by kids, teens or adults.
You can divide this bunk bed into two separate beds.
Solid Wood Frame
We use solid hardwood for this bunk bed. Our factory uses Aspen, Maple, or Birch wood interchangeably for the production of this unit. To achieve maximum strength, we use premium knot-free hardwood for this bunk bed.
Slats are made of plywood. They are about 2.5” wide and 2.5” apart from each other. Each slat comes with holes. So, you can secure every slat to the frame with two wood screws.
Safety of Your Bunk Bed
This modular design solid wood bunk bed can hold a tested 400lb weight capacity on the upper deck. The lower deck can almost also hold the same weight, but we do not test the lower deck.
On the upper deck, all sizes except the twin have center support. We use a metal support bar for extra-long and queen-size beds and a wooden center beam for full-size bunk and loft beds. The center support is available only for XL and queen sizes on the lower deck of bunk beds. We do not use center support for the lower deck of full-size bunk beds or for full-size platform beds in this collection.
Our modular design has 4 metal pings, purpose built Rocklocks which lock the upper and lower headboards.
We use acrylic paint for the white finish. For natural and chestnut finishes we use nc lacquer (nitro cellulose). Also, we test the finishes for chemical compliance with US and EU safety standards.
Ladder
Ladder is Angled for this bunk bed. You can install the ladder on either the left or right-hand side of your bunk bed to suit your space. You can also do the same for the metal bar. Angled ladder is easier to climb than the vertical ladder but takes more space. However, if you plan to use a trundle bed or underbed storage, a vertical ladder is going to work better.
Slide
This slide is made of solid hardwood and MDF surface for easy sliding. It comes with two hooks which hook to the mattress rails and these make it easy to remove the slide as and when you want. You can secure these hooks to the mattress rail using screws. For extra safety and to secure the slide, we have extra safety pieces which go over the hooks so that you do not remove the slide accidentally.
You can install this slide on the left or right side.
Assembly
Assembly of the Modular design is relatively easy as you do not need to assemble the headboards. The only items you need to assemble are the ladder, guard rails, connect mattress rails, Rocklock and slats. However, installing the Rocklock is tricky.
Mattress
A standard size mattress fits this bunk bed just fine. You can use a maximum of 6” thick mattress for the upper bunk. For the lower bunk, depending on which height you choose, you can use a mattress that is between 6” to 8” thick.
