Nootka Loft Bed with Desk
Nootka loft bed with desk is part of our Vanisla Collection. The name is from a small town on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Made of solid rubberwood. Rubberwood is from a rubber tree, native to southeast Asia. It is hardwood and sustainable wood.
You can add Vanisla hanging tray for extra storage.
Nootka loft bed with desk stands at an ideal height of 71”. Standard ceiling is 96” so you have plenty of space on the top and lots of clearance on the lower section. Clearance under the loft is 54” which is enough headspace when you sit behind the desk.
This loft divides into one bed. If you need to, you can separate the upper part and turn it into a daybed or a normal single bed with equal height head and footboard.
You can remove the desk if you find no longer you need it. Removing of the desk is not going to affect the stability and structure of your loft bed.
Another cool feature of this loft is the use of brackets. There are 4 brackets connecting the top loft to lower legs. These brackets secure upper to lower loft to reduce shakes.
Nootka loft also uses six braces on its legs. These cross braces reduce shakes and lateral moves. They act very similar to anti-earthquake braces you may have seen on buildings.
There are 4 metal pings between the upper and lower loft. You do not see them, they are inside the wood. They are about 3” in length.
Slats are made of solid wood as well. They are layers of glued wood, as in plywood, for extra strength. You may see some puddy here and there which is normal.
Nootka loft bed with desk is perfect for any age. Kids, teens, or adults all can use this loft without a problem. This is because it can hold 220 lbs of weight on the upper bunk. We tested it in our store, two of us climbed the loft and sat on top w/o any issues or hearing any noise.
This loft bed uses an angled ladder which is easier to climb. The angle of this ladder is at 80 degrees, so it is not pushing inside your room all that much.
You can install the ladder on the right or left side. No need to specify this when you order. This is the default option. You decide on where to install it during assembly.
Price includes a loft bed frame which ladder is part of as well as the desk.
Standard single, or twin, size mattress fits this loft bed just fine. From the top of the slats to top of the guardrails, you have 12” of space. Therefore we recommend using a mattress with 6” of thickness.
We sell mattresses and accessories separately since some people either have or do not need them.
Assembly of Nootka loft is reasonably simple. Both headboards, ladder, and braces are assembled. The desk comes in one piece. You need to install guard rails, connect mattress rails, braces, and slats. You install the desk to side rails with nuts and bolts.

For Atlantic Canada and Territories, please contact us for the shipping rate.
Our products are bulky and heavy. Shipping is a significant portion of the total cost. Normally, the shipping rate can cost anywhere from %10 to %30 of actual products. For the time being, we can not offer a flat rate to the Atlantic and Territories.
Our shipping rate is for the basic door-to-door, or curbside, delivery. Curbside means the driver is not entering inside the premise of your house, apartment, or property.
The shipping rate we offer is for major cities (cities with ~10k population or more) within mentioned provinces. For rural communities, townships, resorts, or cities on small islands, we may have to ship to the nearest depot for you to pick up from.
The location of depots depends on which shipping company we use for your city. It all depends on who gives us the best rate at the time of getting a quote.
Sorry, we can not ship to PO Box addresses. We do need a physical address to ship to.
We use all major, or even minor, shipping and courier companies. After you place your order, we contact a lot of companies to get the best rate possible.
Once we know which company is going to take care of your shipment, we get a tracking number. As soon as products are shipped, we email you the tracking number along with their website of the shipping company so you can track it yourself.
When you receive your order from the courier or trucking company, please inspect each box before signing of. If you see any external damage, write it on the waybill or inform the driver in case of touchless service.
After you open your boxes and find damage(s) on products, please take multiple images and email them to us. We need to know precisely which item you need a replacement for.
