Our 63 futon mattress is a great all rounder for use as a sofa bed or as a mattress. We use low density foam in this mattress which makes it less ideal for long term everyday sleep, however, there is lots of cotton inside this mattress to make up for it.
We call this mattress 63 since there are 6 layers of cotton batting inside as well as 3 layers of 1” thick low density foam.
This item we usually have the double size in stock for a quick ship or pick up. See our shipping page for more info. Other sizes are made to order.
This mattress is on the plush side at the beginning but since it is using a lot of cotton, after many months of use cotton will pack down and you will feel the mattress getting firm.
Low Density Foam
We use 3 layers of low-density bio foam in this mattress and each layer is one inch in thickness. Biofoam means that up to 20% of base material in the foam is from plants and the rest is usual polyurethane foam.
There are 6 layers of 100% pure virgin cotton batting inside this mattress. This is the part that gives the lumpiness to futon mattress. Thickness of it is not easy to measure due to the fluffy nature of cotton batt, but it is roughly 0.5” for each layer.
Two Sided Mattress
This futon mattress is two sided which means you can sit and sleep on the both sides of the mattress therefore you get longer wear from your investment.
Cover, or better to call it casing, of this mattress is canvas like white fabric which is 100% polyester for durability. This cover acts as a casing to hold the content which is layers of foam and cotton. In the middle of the mattress you will find tufting in roughly 10” appart so as to keep the layers from shifting around. You can not take this casing off because of the permanent tufts.
We recommend using a mattress protector.
All of our futon mattresses, including this one, are based on Canadian standard sizes. What is standard is length and width but thickness is not.
Mattress is folded in half and one or two strings keeping it in place and then the whole thing is inside a durable plastic bag. There is no cardboard or anything fancy, bare bone basic.

We offer curbside delivery to cities of the following provinces:
British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
For cities in remote areas such as small islands or townships or rural communities (cities with less than ~10k population), we may have to ship to the nearest depot for you to pick up from. We do not ship to PO Boxes.

For Atlantic Canada and Territories, please contact us for the shipping rate.
Our products are bulky and heavy. Shipping is a significant portion of the total cost. Normally, the shipping rate can cost anywhere from %10 to %30 of actual products. For the time being, we can not offer a flat rate to the Atlantic and Territories.
Our shipping rate is for the basic door-to-door, or curbside, delivery. Curbside means the driver is not entering inside the premise of your house, apartment, or property.
The shipping rate we offer is for major cities (cities with ~10k population or more) within mentioned provinces. For rural communities, townships, resorts, or cities on small islands, we may have to ship to the nearest depot for you to pick up from.
The location of depots depends on which shipping company we use for your city. It all depends on who gives us the best rate at the time of getting a quote.
Sorry, we can not ship to PO Box addresses. We do need a physical address to ship to.
We use all major, or even minor, shipping and courier companies. After you place your order, we contact a lot of companies to get the best rate possible.
Once we know which company is going to take care of your shipment, we get a tracking number. As soon as products are shipped, we email you the tracking number along with their website of the shipping company so you can track it yourself.
When you receive your order from the courier or trucking company, please inspect each box before signing of. If you see any external damage, write it on the waybill or inform the driver in case of touchless service.
After you open your boxes and find damage(s) on products, please take multiple images and email them to us. We need to know precisely which item you need a replacement for.
