This Solid wood platform bed in Panel Design is part of our Cottage Collection. The name is for its look, each headboard is a panel.

Colour is in White Stain finish. You can match the white color platform bed with any bedding or existing furniture since there is little variation in pure white color.

Size of this platform is Full extra long, which is also known as double extra long. Full XL has the same length as Queen size.

Made of solid Southern Yellow Pine. Yellow Pine is denser than our own BC pine. Strong enough that some roller coasters are made from this wood.

Usability

This platform bed comes with 5 different heights head and footboard so you mix these sizes to achieve many configurations based on your decor and desire.

There are 5 different heights panels whichare: 48”, 37”, 29”, 22” and 16”. You can mix any configuration you like. For example, you can use a 48” panel for headboard and 22” panel as footboard and we call this 4822 model and so on.

Panel Bed comes in six sizes. Take advantage of extra long versions for teens or grown ups. King size is also available.

Underbed Storage

You can add a storage trundle or a dresser under this bed. For queen or king size, you canadd a storage trundle on one side and underbed dresser on the other side of the bed.

If you wish to add a matching night table, you can choose a shorter underbed dresser so all drawers can function nicely.

Safety

Our finishes include volatile organic compounds (or VOC's) in their liquid form. These ingredients are used to allow finishes to be applied by spraying. Once a finish is applied the ingredients evaporate during the drying and curing process releasing the VOC's. Finished wood surfaces do not emit VOC's once they are cured.

Panel design solid wood platform bed is perfect for any age. Kids, teens, or adults all can use this bed without a problem. This is because it can hold 400 lbs of weight. To achieve this weight rating, the mattress rail on this bed is a solid and very thick piece of wood without finger joints, just a long solid piece of timber.

Headboard joints are traditional and robust mortise and tenon.

Assembly

The Assembly of Panel Design platform bed is fairly simple. No need to assemble the panels. You only need to connect mattress rails to head/foot boards, the panels, and screw in the slats.

There are a total of 8 metal connector bolts and 16 barrel nuts to secure mattress rails to both head and footboard. There are 9 slats pre each bed and slats are pre-drilled on both ends so you can easily screw them all in to mattress rails.

Mattress and Boxspring

Standard size mattress fits this bed just fine and there is no restriction on mattress thickness.

You do not need to use a boxspring for our Panel Design platform bed.

Slats are made of solid wood as well. They are 5.5” wide each and you get 9 slats per deck, that is, 9 for lofts and 18 per bunk bed. Space between the slats are roughly 3.5” for single size and a bit more for extra long versions since both sizes use the same number of slats. If you wish to add more slats to reduce the space between them it is possible to buy Individual Slat.

Price includes a platform bed frame and slats. We sell mattresses separately as there are lots of choices to choose from.
